Girls Night Out

Last Thursday, I joined two of my girlfriends for an opening night "Preview" at the newly-opened Sephora store in the Green Hills Mall in Nashville. It was absolutely packed! There were so many people you could hardly even shop --- although I managed to spend way too much money anyway. For years now I have ordered beauty products online from Sephora's web site or shopped at their stores in Las Vegas, Chicago, New York, when I was visiting or on business trips. Now, we finally have a Sephora in Nashville!!! Good news for Nashville, bad news for my pocketbook.

A trip to Sephora is the perfect girlfriends outing. Faced with every makeup line and color and product and perfume imaginable - all with testers for you to try out - is like being let loose with Mom's lipsticks and rouges when I was five. It makes me glad I'm a girl.

I tried out Vincent Longo's lip stain, which was one of my purchases. So far, it's been pretty good. It doesn't last all day, but it certainly lasts much longer than any lipstick I've tried.

I was amazed at how many other Sephora fans there are in Nashville. I've never seen a store just mobbed with people. And the line to make a purchase was at least as long as the lines at the day-after-Thanksgiving sales at the mall. I think Sephora will be very successful here in Music City. I'm certainly doing my part to contribute to its success.
